2012 And Nostradamus. What To Think/do ?

Nostradamus Theory

2012 Nostradamus predictions paint a bleak picture of massive destruction and havoc brought about by a comet. It is not clear whether this comet will strike the earth or will pass very close to our planet, causing massive earthquakes and other cataclysmic occurrences. But all interpreters of his quatrains are united on the opinion that it will be a comet which will come somewhere in December 2012. Nostradamus writes in one of his quatrains – “In the sky will be seen a great fire dragging a trail of sparks”. This line clearly suggest a comet and many are of the opinion that it will be very big in size. Certain interpreters put the size to be just a little less than the planet Jupiter, and if such a comet passes close to the earth the effect of its gravity will cause the oceans to rise and also give rise to earthquakes.

Another theory is that the even though the comet will pass close to the earth it might cause an asteroid to shift course and impact the earth. Such an impact will be the size of several atomic bombs and will cause massive destruction. Some predict that the superpowers of the world will send atomic missiles to break this asteroid in space, but still there will be a shower of hail and fire from its fragments.

For 2012 Nostradamus also suggest that because of the massive destruction caused by the comet there will be widespread anarchy and certain nations can take advantage and plunge the world into a third World War. One of the quatrains says – “King of terror shall come from the sky. He will bring to life the King of Mongols.” This line has been interpreted that after the coming of the comet China will gain prominence and might start attacking countries to gain supremacy.

2012 Nostradamus predictions also gives an indication of the fate of certain nations, and how long the comet will be seen in the skies. He mentions – “The Great Star will blaze for Seven days” meaning the comet will be very near the earth for seven days and nights. Further he says – “The Huge dog will howl at night, when the great pontiff will change lands”. The great dog is taken to be the United Kingdom by many interpreters, and the line suggests its destruction. The pontiff is taken to be the pope and hence Rome too will be destroyed. Nostradamus Predictions that came true

Interpreters of the Nostradamus Centuries claim that he had correctly predicted a number of major historic events. Many people are skeptical about Nostradamus’ predictions but the Quatrain 51, Volume II, for example which is believed to refer to the Great Fire of London in 1666 is too accurate to be a coincidence: “The blood of the just will be demanded of London/ Burnt by the fire in the year 66/ The ancient Lady will fall from her high place/ And many of the same sect will be killed.”

Nostradamus’ prediction of World War II and the rise of Hitler has attracted a lot of attention due to the word Hister in the original version. The word itself refers to the River Danube, however, the Quatrain 35, Volume III, without a doubt matches the description of Hitler: “From the depths of the West of Europe/ A young child will be born of poor people/ He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop/ His fame will increase towards the real of the East.“ The description of the atomic bomb, on the other hand, is even more accurate: “Near the gates and within two cities/ There will be scourges the like of which was never seen/ Famine within plague, people put out by steel/ Crying to the great immortal God for relief.“

The famous French seer is also credited with predictions of the French Revolution, the rise of Napoleon, JFK assassination and even the 9/11. The September 11 attacks can be found in Quatrain 87, Volume 1: “ Earthshaking fire from the center of the Earth/ Will cause tremors around the New City/ Two great rocks will war for a long time/ Then Arethusa will redden a new river.“ Nostradamus indeed seems to had foreseen some of the historic events but unfortunately, his predictions for the future are written in a language that makes them impossible to decipher.... CULLED

With Kind Regards,

2012., Did The Mayans Meet Nostradamus

Much has been said about a new world order starting from December 12th, 2012. From some corners, mankind may not leave to see it. From others, the spectacle would be horrendous. Well, my puzzle is did the MAYANS ever have a date with NOSTRADAMUS since they both seem to be saying the same thing about this date even though they lived yearrrrrrs apart.

Any insights?

British Spelling Vs America Spelling

I have been living in the U.S for over 14 years now, yes time keeps going but I keep getting younger lol. However, we all know that in Bim we use the QUEEN's English but over here in the States we use the American English. Now I want to know if it is difficult for other bajans who also migrated (yes like the birds) to States from Bim to use either spelling?

I asked this question because some days I would spell using the American English then I would have a brain fart and use the Queen's English. I was reading the Barbados Advocate and saw the word "programme" so I was thinking this word looks SO WRONG and I was going to go ask my mother who at one point was a teacher in Barbados about it, but then I remembered that Barbados follows the QUeen's English. hmmnh. lol.

Belle Squatters To Be Evicted!

Quote

By Maria Bradshaw | Tue, March 29, 2011 - 12:11 AM

More than 20 new squatters who have set up house in the Zone 1 area at The Belle, St Michael, received enforcement notices last week to remove those structures.

The notices were posted on the illegal buildings by representatives of the Town Planning Department and the squatters were given the usual 28 days in which to demolish the houses.

The area, which abuts The Belle farms, the Old Train Line and the Belle Plantation, has become the new attraction for land-hungry Barbadians even though the householders have no electricity and no water connections.

Because it is a Zone 1 area the residents are not permitted to have any waterborne toilet facilities either.

The majority of houses, built out of plywood, were constructed two years ago on the land that leads to the Belle Pumping Station. That area used to be blocked by a iron barrier but when the DAILY NATION team visited yesterday the barrier was moved and covered with overgrown grass.

The residents fetch water by connecting hoses to a pipe at the nearby pumping station while some also have water tanks connected to their homes.

Many of the residents expressed concern about the notices but said they would “wait and see” what happened before making any moves since the squatters on the opposite side had been there for years, even though they, too, had received notices to quit.

Forty-five-year-old Monica Grannum, one of the first people to settle in the area, said she had been crying every day since the notice was posted on her house. She lives with her daughter and seven-year-old granddaughter while her son and his family live next door to her.

Another woman, who did not want to give her name because she works in Government, said she took out three loans to build her small three-bedroom house and was still paying back those loans.

She was the only squatter with a meter attached to her house for electricity but she pointed out that when workmen from the Barbados Light & Power came last week to plant a pole they abandoned the job after seeing the notice on her house.

She said she visited the Town Planning Department last week and filled out an extension application.

Another man who built his house a year ago said he was not too worried about the notice.

But the situation has left 38-year-old Providence Charles, a recovering substance abuser, between a rock and a hard place.

Charles, who has been a resident at Verdun House for the past two years, started to build a small house in the area two months ago as a way of getting back on his feet.

“I am lost. I am all mixed up. I don’t know what to do,” he sadly stated.

When contacted yesterday, Member of Parliament for the area, Kenneth Best, told the DAILY NATION: “I cannot comment. This is a sensitive issue.”

Chief Town Planner Mark Cummins was also not available because he was out of office yesterday afternoon.

I feel sorry for them in some ways but it surely had to happen sooner or later and they should have expected it.

I received notifications of PM (a few months ago) but as usual, the attempts to log in had proved futile. I am quite shocked that I clicked on the link today and it actually worked. However, this will probably not happen again for another few months lol lol lol <_<. On top of not being able to gain access to the forum for such a long time, the darn place was locked up so tight I though arm forces had taken it hostage. I had to change my password and even after being sent a new one, I was still being told user name and password was incorrect. What is up?
Swing And Sway Your Body

Swing dance is a very old style of dance that became famous during the early 21st century. Swing dance was performed to the beats of swing jazz music. Originally, there were four dance styles known as Lindy Charleston, Lindy Hop, Balboa and Shag that made swing dancing quite popular. During the 1940s, many swing dance styles were created such as West Coast swing, East coast swing, Jive, Modern Jive, Rock and roll, Boogie Woogie and Hand Dancing.

Judging the swing dances were done on three levels, which are mainly referred as the three Ts - Timing, Technique and Teamwork. Timing is the pace and rhythm of the music beats, how well both the partners perform is known as teamwork. One of the first competitions that was held for swing dance was the Harvest Moon Ball in 1938.

Swing Dancing Classes NYC provides the best in this field. It is high in quality and affordable too. Dance schools register students according their dance skill set. Beginners, advanced beginner, intermediate and professional courses are the four levels of dancing. The first stage of learning is the beginners’ classes. To enroll into this class, learners need not have any formal training because they are given lessons about the most basic steps. These steps form the base for future learning experiences.

With proper dance practice and one years’ experience a student can get registered into the advanced beginners’ class. Similarly with two years plus experience, a dancer is enrolled into the next level of dancing.

Why Are Bajan Women Soooo Rude!

As this forums moto is - TELLING IT LIKE IT IS, Let me tell you this...

I have been in Barbados now for 2 months and the Bajan women are driving me crazy, I have never seen so much attitude in my life. Everywhere I go, there is always some Bajan woman looking at people like someone has just smeared dogshit across their top lip; The staff in petrol garages, in shops, in the immigration offices, even in the library in Bridgetown square.

I wouldn't mind if they were stunning beautiful women that were going on stush like your trying to check them, BUT THEY ARE NOT; 99.9% of these women with attitude are really abnormally ugly. First I thought it was just at guys but they do it to women too.

Whats it all about, I have had this conversation with locals and tourists and everyone says the same thing - Bajan women are messed up!

But why?

Environmental Issues - A Good Solution For Barbados

I am new to this Forum. I visited Barbados when I was a student at the University of the West Indies in 1961. Currently I am involved with a non profit organization - The Vetiver Network International - that has done much to promote the use of vetiver grass (Khus Khus - once well known in Barbados) for soil and water conservation, slope stabilization and pollution control. I understand that some of the current key environmental issues in Barbados relate to: pollution of coastal waters; soil erosion;and solid waste disposal.

Vetiver grass (Khus Khus) has been in Barbados for probably 200 years and is not invasive. Vetiver grass hedgerows that in the old days were used on many farms in Barbados for soil and water conservation, went out fashion with increased farm mechanization - the result increased erosion. In those days not much was known about Khus Khus, except for erosion control. Over the past 20 years we have discovered remarkable qualities of Khus Khus that enables us today to use it for pollution control - waste water clean up, stabilization of solid waste landfills and leachate clean up, slope protection, landslide rehabilitation, and much more. Else where in the tropics Khus Khus has been used to rehabilitate badly eroded catchments (Vanuatu) and thus reduce sediment flow into coastal water; reducing/eliminating effluent from the outflow of private cess tanks - Indonesia (untreated effluent can often impact nearby pristine beaches, protection of beach property against sea erosion (Brazil, Senegal, India), protecting and stabilizing private real estate against slippage and erosion (California, Brazil, Panama, Venezuela)

One of the great advantages of using Khus Khus is that it is relatively easy to use, it is low cost and it works. It is a great technology for community initiative because anyone or everyone can participate. All the technical information is in the public domain and is available at no cost. Some key Internet sites for information include: www.vetiver.org, http://vetivernetinternational.blogspot.com/, and http://groups.google.com/group/vetivercaribbean

We have a great network and there are many vetiver users who are eager to share their experiences and offer advice! For those of you who have to deal with environmental issues in Barbados and want to get something done - there is an immediate opportunity through the use of Khus Khus.

The Panama Canal

I recall as a little girl hearing about the many Bajan men who left to go work on the Panama Canal. Interestingly, while I was in school in Barbados I never heard this subject brought up as a part of our history, an important one at that. I had the privilege of watching The Panama Canal last week on American Experience (PBS) - interviews with Bajans included. I hope you all get a chance to see it if you haven't already. It was very interesting. I did not realize that West Indians, particularly Bajans, played such a significant role in the building of the canal. Shame that we let this piece of history go.
